Us Lately

Baylor got to have his first sleep over at our house this week.  His cousin Aspen is off-track like me (wahoo) and so she came over to have an "s.o."  She was so excited to wear their twiner monkey p.j.s.  Aspen and my sees Michelle bought the red ones for Baylor before he was even born and Aspen has patiently waited until they could both wear them together.  We finally had the perfect day.

B also helped knock her front tooth out!  She had this tooth, that was SOOOO loose, yet she wouldn't let anyone touch it.  Well, Baylor didn't ask... he just grabbed at it and out it popped.  We were all laughing, and she finally had that darn tooth out :)

My other niece Allie is on another track, so she couldn't sleep over, but she came and played until it was time for bed.  We had a train going with all of B's ride on toys.  All 3 of them just giggled.  Even Bronx got a turn (he was thrilled).

The movie they are into right now is 'Annie'.  I got many performances, but my favorite was their kick line.  Remember when Daddy Warbucks takes Annie to the movies... Well I got it live.  They were cracking me up.
"Let's go to the movies.... Let's go see the stars...."
Baylor is loving his cars lately.  Take a close look at his lips because he's making the car sound.  He makes it every time he pushes cars around.  Classic.
bbbbbmmmmmmmmmm

And the other thing he keeps doing lately is biting the spoon when he's eating and NOT letting go.  Then he just starts smiling and laughing (keep in mind, he is still biting down on the spoon).  He did get another tooth this week so maybe he was just looking for some comfort... that and a laugh out of me :)

Everyday is an adventure.  Everyday is a laugh.  Everyday brings a smile.

All Jazzed Up

Last weekend, we went to the Jazz game.  It was lots of fun like always.  During the 3rd quarter, an employee came and talked to us about being in one of the Bear's skits.  They placed a couple in front of us and the guy was all decked out in Nets gear.  Long story short- the Bear brought balloons over to draw attention and the guy ran in front waving his hat so he would be on the jumbotron.  Bear clipped his hat to the balloons and it went flying.  This whole time, we were on the jumbotron and then we got sprayed with silly string because we were in the line of fire.  Baylor wasn't too sure about the silly string, but we had a good time.

The aftermath
After all the excitement, Baylor became very intrigued by Russ' hat.  He just kept studying it.

I LOVE this boy
We love the Jazz and had a great family night out!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BAYLOR!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy bAyLoR!
I can't believe how fast this year has flown by.  Baylor has brought so many smiles each and everyday.  What better way to celebrate such a sweet boy... than by partying!!!  We invited all of our family over for a Buzz Lightyear bash.  My sister took the cutest pictures of B, dressed up like Buzz for his invitations.  (I'll post them later)  We had the party a day before his actual b-day because Russ had school.  We all had a GREAT time!

It's an understatement to say that he was spoiled... although, I like to call it well loved :)
The CAKE!  It was my first attempt at actually decorating a cake, but I like how it turned out and Baylor seemed to like it too.  And if you can't tell... it's supposed to be Buzz on the moon...
The BOY!  So excited when everyone started arriving!
After pizza, it was...
Present time!
A ride on dump truck from Grandma Julie and Grandpa Bill!  WAHOO!
Happy 1st Birthday Baylor!
He got all shy when we sang to him, it was so cute.  Then he just smiled when we put the cake in front of him, like- seriously mom, I get to smoosh it?!
And it didn't take long for him to DIG IN!  I wish we had audio of this... he just kept saying
mmmmm... mmmmmmm.... mmmmmmm... over and over!!!

His cousins couldn't resist... Gotta love Braxton and Cole!
All of his cousins!
By this point he was DONE- in all aspects :)
Allie, Cole, Aspen, Braxton, Brooklyn and Baylor
This morning, his actual b-day, I had to go to work :(
But never fear, Grandma Julie whipped him up some birthday pancakes
And this is the birthday boy WALKING!  I guess he decided to master it before his big day!
I love you Baylor!  I hope your first birthday was as much fun for you as it was for me!!!

New Year's Eve

Welcome 2010!  We had a fantastic New Year's Eve.  We went to dinner at the Stein Eriksen Lodge.  It's always fun to go up there, and of course dinner was delicious.  Russ and Debi brought up their cute neighbor girl to watch the kids (Baylor and his cousin Brooklyn) during dinner, so we enjoyed some time with just the adults.

The Olsen Family (minus the kiddos)

After dinner, Russ, Baylor and I headed back down to SLC to ring in the new year with my family.  When we got there it was about 10:30.  Baylor woke up going into the house and he wouldn't go back to sleep until after midnight.  I think he could feel the excitement or something because I can usually get him back to bed pretty easy when it's that late.  He wasn't a big fan of the noise makers the kids were blowing but he was sure a trooper for his first New Year's Eve.  He went to bed right after midnight and then we played games until about 2:30 am.   Nothing beats Q.T. with the fam!

MeRrY ChRiStMaS

Before Christmas we went to The Olsen family Christmas party down in Mount Pleasant.  It was all fun and games until Santa showed up.  Let's just say, Baylor is not a fan.

It was No, No, No, not Ho, Ho, Ho and being the cruel mom that I am, I had to have proof for later years.   I had to snap a few pics before rescuing B from the big bad man in the red suit.  His little body got all tense and he was trying to get away...
And then he just started sobbing and don't worry, after this one, I ran to his rescue :)
Little did he know, he dressed up like that guy on Christmas Eve.  He made quite a cute little Santa.  Here he is stealing ornaments off the tree- our favorite game... he takes one off and I chase after him, get the ornament, and put it back on the tree.  My family's tradition is to go to a movie on Christmas Eve.  Russ had to work :(  so Baylor and I went with everybody to see Christmas Carol.  Good movie, but a little creepy for kids.  I was a little worried the first 10 minutes, but luckily he needed a nap and went to sleep for the rest of it.
This is Christmas morning.  Baylor hauled butt into the front room and cruised towards his presents.  And just as I hoped he first chose to go to.......
The pull string Woody!!!
I love Toy Story and have a small hunch that he will love it too.  Not that I will have anything to do with it.
Then he tested out his lion.  If you push the nose, it sings and he is already a pro.  And lucky for us, it has an 'off' button.
His stocking was full of fun little toys.  Man, Santa is good.
And he got a sweet little basketball hoop.  He's pretty much already following in Deron William's footsteps ;)
Then we were off to Grandma Julie and Grandpa Bill's house.  (My parents)  My mom gives all the kids pajamas on Christmas Eve so they were all happy to show them off.  We were all spoiled again here and we all had tons of fun.  Baylor got tons of fun toys and clothes.
The BOYS!
The boys got sports pajamas this year.  We loved Cole's Jazz jammies and Baylor's BYU jammies, as for Braxton's U of U gear...
but we love him anyway :)
Our little fam in front of the 'Rockafeller Center' tree.  I wish you could see how huge it is!
Then we headed to Grandma Debi and Grandpa Russ' house (Russ' parents) where we were spoiled once again.  B got this fun alphabet train, which thankfully also has an 'off' button.
Debi gave Baylor a real pair of UGG boots.  They are so dang cute.  His cousin Brooklyn got a pink pair.  Too fun.
We had a fabulous day and made tons of memories for Baylor's first Christmas.  Though he may not remember it, we always will.  I hope you all had the merriest of Christmases and that you have a hap hap happy NEW YEAR!  Love you all!
