REAL good time

I can't lie- Soccer is not my favorite sport. The last soccer game I went to was my nephew Braxton's when he was 4... he's 13. I tolerate it on t.v. for Russ because he likes it. (I can't however tolerate the stupid vuvuzelas. The annoying bee sounding horns, but that's a whole different post) BUT when Russ asked if I wanted to go watch Real play I was game. I always like getting out and thought Baylor might like it. His work was going so we got to go with our friends Matt and Jaron.
It's not too hard to get B excited. He loves a good adventure.
Walking in to the game.
Russ brought B this jersey back from Brazil when he went last year. I'm pretty sure he started loving soccer when he served his mission in Rio. He was sporting a jersey too.

And we couldn't leave without a new ball :)
So at the end of the game, I still didn't LOVE it, but I understand the game more now. We had fun but it's not my favorite sport. I do appreciate how hard the game is... I wouldn't last one run down the field :) But I'm always up for a game, GO REAL!

TaTo BuGs

Baylor got to experience "tato" bugs for the first time the other day. He was quite intrigued, but didn't really get the concept of being GENTLE with them. He would try to touch them or pick them up and squash... goodbye tato bugs :(

My niece Aspen was getting so frustrated with him because he was ACCIDENTALLY squishing them... sorry Aspen, but I needed pictures.
*Only 3 rollie pollies were harmed in the making of this post

The Climbing Machine

Baylor has a new hobby...
and it keeps more than just him on his toes.
(This is a bit of a curveball, but it happened after this climbing escapade...)
This particular morning I was making caramel/chocolate pretzels to help raise money for my nephew. After his climbing episode he ran into the kitchen and snagged one off the table. The look on his face after he took a bite was so priceless that I couldn't take it away from him, so I grabbed the camera and took off after him. I think he was afraid I was going to take it because he would go from one corner of the house to another while laughing and taking bites while he could. He had chocolate running down his chin and he left a few sets of chocolate finger prints on the walls. I had to laugh though, it was so funny.
It's impossible to get him not to climb anymore.
Another day my mom had all of Baylor's "friends" practicing SITTING on the couch.
It lasted for about 3 seconds :)
She demonstrated to him what happened when the "bebe" fell off the couch. She said he started sobbing! He was so upset that Gerald (the boy cabbage patch) fell and "bonk"ed. I'm happy to know he's compassionate. It didn't however, stop him from jumping again. And again. And again.
The other morning he got up super early, so I was trying to get ready for work and watch him at the same time. I walked into his room and he was sitting on his chair rocking! It was hilarious. I have no idea how he got up there, but he sure did. Luckily the camera was close.
Another day I was trying to unload the dishwasher and looked over to see his bouncing. If I didn't worry he would fly off I wouldn't care.
He makes me laugh. He listens when I BEG him to sit down so he doesn't get hurt... at least for a few seconds.
And then he was off the couch and on the dishwasher before I could even get over there.
I don't call him Wild Thing and Monkey for nothing

The Newest Bobcat

Every year I have my mom come to school and take a class picture for me. Obviously this year, she had a little helper. B was just hanging out in the stroller while my mom snapped a few shots for us, and then they swarmed him :) My class was SO excited to see him, talk to him, TOUCH (I know) him, etc. They were so cute with him and B was eating it right up.

It started like this...
And quickly became this.
Then Baylor decided he wanted out of the stroller and into the action. He's already the cool kid at school :)
And then the begging started. My WHOLE class was begging for me to let him come inside, into our classroom. BEGGING. They eventually convinced me, and my mom is always a trooper, so they came inside for a little while. We were supposed to be doing book reviews, so I told them I would bring Baylor around and they could read to him for a minute. They all dashed to the book corner and switched their books out for ones they thought he would like. They were suddenly all reading the Disney books, Clifford, etc. I really have the cutest class. And Baylor thought it was great. So much attention, books, books and more BOOKS (which he LOVES) and momma. I was so glad I got to spend time with my wild thing during work. He fits right in with my other 23 wild things.

Baylor is now OFFICIALLY a Butterfield Canyon Bobcat
Rah Rah Rah
Rah Rah Rah
Goooooo Bobcats!!!
And yes, that is really how our school song ends (I think the teacher who wrote it is also a Cougar fan, sounds a little familiar right :)

Yesssss

Last week we reached a huge milestone at the Olsen house... Russ graduated with his MBA from Westminster!!! YAHOO!!! He technically is still finishing 2 classes which will be over at the end of July, but we are still ecstatic anyway. He has been a real trooper the past 2 years. He would work 10 hours and then go straight to class for 3 more, getting home around 10 p.m. Then on days he didn't have class, it was homework or studying. For anyone who doesn't know Russ well, he is a perfectionist. I have never seen anyone do homework, write papers, or study like he does. I was impressed and baffled time and again by his work ethic and I'm so proud of him for all of his hard work. I am very excited for him to be finished as well, because he's been in school since I was pregnant with Baylor. It will be so nice to have him home with us.

On Thursday, there was a pinning ceremony for all the MBA graduates. It was held at the Grand America. We left B at home for this one.

Westminster MBA Grads 2010
Where's Russo???
Saturday morning we had a nice breakfast down at the College. It was fun to see where he's been going to school. The campus is really nice. Both of our parents were able to come with us too.

Then it was off to the E Center for the graduation ceremony. Baylor was NOT a fan. He decided he didn't want to listen to the speakers or all of the graduates so we hung out in the hallway. Super fun, especially since it lasted THREE HOURS!!! Even better, they gave diplomas to the MBA grads LAST. So we couldn't leave early. The time finally came and we got to head back inside to cheer on our guy.
YAY RUSS!!!

My father-in-law took Baylor down before the exit procession so B got to walk with all the grads. The professors all loved him and you could see the smile of Russ' face from a mile away.

Afterwards, we had a celebration BBQ with friends and family and Russ' parents' house.

At Disneyland I made Russ take a picture in this hat. Especially since we went to Disneyland as an early graduation celebration trip. I've decided we should probably go back after July, just to make it official ;) What do you think Russ???
WaY To Go RuSs!
I am so proud of you for all of your hard work. I can't wait for you to actually be able to come home at night!!!
