A sunDANCE with the hubby

A few weeks ago Russ and I got a little alone time. We were able to go to 2 Sundance premieres and to the 2011 Freestyle Ski Championships.
Sundance was AWESOME. Not gonna lie, I love celebrities. Because the movies we went to were premieres, all the stars were there. The first movie was Cedar Rapids which was a comedy. Seriously funny stuff. A few of the actors included, Ed Helms (the Hangover), Anne Heche, and John C. Reilly (Talladega Nights). hahahahaha- that was me laughing.

And for the second movie, my sisters got to come with us. The movies didn't start until 9:30 so they were late nights, but SO worth it! We were all starving when we got up there, but luckily they were selling pizza in the lobby. Russ and Leanne went out to get us some for us and when they came back, they weren't holding anything. Then Leanne whipped open her purse... voila. They were selling it, but not letting people bring it into the theater. LAME. So they did what any sensible person would do and snuck it in. Good times.
The second movie was Margin Call, about the 2008 financial crisis. Russ felt like he was at work the whole time lol. This cast was packed with great celebs. Penn Badgley (a gossip girl fav) Demi Moore with hubby Ashton, Kevin Spacey, the creepy albino guy from Da Vinci code (also in a Knight's Tale) etc.......
HEAVEN.

And afterwards we were about to take some pics when a worker saw us and offered to take us down to the "red carpet" so we could get one where the stars do :D He must have been feeling REALLY nice, and believe me I was REALLY grateful.

Then a few weekends later Russ and I got away for a little skiing and one of his favorite events of the year, the World Freestyle Championships at Deer Valley. Russ taught me to ski the year we got married (2007). The following year I was preggo with B and last year it just didn't happen. So I was pleasantly surprised when I could still do it. Everyone kept telling me it's just like riding a bike... NOT. I was never "riding a bike" good at skiing, but it only took a few runs to be somewhat comfortable.
The things you do for the people you love :)
And don't get me wrong I had TONS of fun!
The first night we were able to watch the aerials and the second night was moguls. It's always fun to see olympic athletes at their finest. You can't really tell, but that little dot is a person doing mad flips and spins in the air.
The gold medal champion!!!
Or Russ just being Russ :)
If only we would have had someone to take the picture, I could have joined him.

B + Mom = FUN

I've been off track for the past 2 weeks and Baylor and I have had so much fun together. One day we went to the library with my sister Leanne and her kids Allie and Cole. Baylor was in book heaven. He LOVES to read and will usually sit there as long as you'll keep going! They have a bunch of love sacs and a bin of books that just stay at the library. He would only bring one book back at a time so after every book he would have to get up and go over to pick another one. Pretty sure that was half the fun. We read and read and loved every minute of it :)

After the library we all went to Chuck-E-Cheese and met up with my mom, sister Michelle, and her 2 youngest kids. We had pizza and played games. B was traumatized when "Chuck-E" came out and walked around. I'm hoping that phase is gone by the time we go to Florida. Or maybe the fact that it will be his beloved mouse will make it better. Nonetheless, he DIDN'T like this one :)
He loved the games and his cousins were more than happy to help him play.

TICKETS!
His favorite game by far was the bowling.
I thought this pic showed his cute little profile.
You can just call him King Pin
And yes, my kid is the one who climbs up the skeeball machine and instead of getting mad at him, I take a picture :)
Gotta love a day of fun!

sAUNTerday

Saturday I got some serious AUNT time in! The day started by going to Allie's dance review. She is as sassy as ever and can really shake it! She is my Allie-cat :)
(and a smaller version of me :)
Then we went to watch Cole play Jr. Jazz. His face lit up when he saw Baylor at the game. We had fun and B got to revive his football cheer of "go go Cole" "go go Cole"!!! He would say that at all of Cole's football games and we just started laughing when he busted it out again.
And our last stop was the Olympic Oval where we watched Aspen speed skate at the Utah Winter Games. She figure skates 2 nights a week and speed skates 2-3 nights. AND man is she fast! I seriously laughed her first lap around because I couldn't believe how fast she is. She was racing kids 3 and 4 years older and smokin' em :)
She won the GOLD and we were all SO proud of her.
It helps when your coach is the gold medal olympian, Derek Parra!!! My sister always raves about how amazing he is as her coach and I got to see it in action. You can tell he is sincerely there for the kids and it was an awesome thing to watch.
I had a blast watching them. I sadly didn't make Braxton's junior jazz game but hopefully will get that in one of these next Saturdays. I LoVe being an AUNT!
