TrIcK oR TrEaT...

My family has a tradition on Halloween to meet at my sister Michelle's house and hang out while the kids trick-or-treat. This year B got to join in on the fun.
Here we have Teen wolf, the Mad Hatter, Alice, the Football star, and Woody.
Cruz was Buzz but he stayed home :)
We headed out in the rain...
and Baylor pretty much thought this was the best thing EVER.
Now that he knows what "treats" are, he was all about it.
We only went to a few houses because of the rain, but had a ball!
His loot.
Trying out a kit-kat
mmmmmmm
And his all time favorite.........
suckers
He will gladly trade you his chocolate for a dum-dum.

This was at Grandma Debi's and Grandpa Russ'.
They had a huge bowl of delicious candy and he swiped 3 dum dums and was the happiest kid on the block.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you and your kiddos in your costumes!
Hope your Halloween was SPOOKtacular!
We have my mom's annual Halloween dinner tonight so you'll see more of this fabulous holiday later :)

PUMPKINS!!!

In order to properly celebrate Halloween, you have to carve pumpkins... which of course means, you need pumpkins! So we headed to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect ones.
Wheeling around my own little pumpkin

Baylor carefully selected this one :)
He helped Grandma Ju Ju pick a pumpkin
Then with a very determined look, he walked over to a different row and picked up this one...
and headed straight for the wheelbarrow.
How can you resist that, so I bought 2 for him.
Then when Russ got off work, we met at my parents to carve and have dinner.
B wasn't too sure about all the goo but we had a ball.

Right until he spotted the doughnuts!
Forget anything else.
The doughnut made his night.
And ours too, because it was pretty classic watching him eat it.
Thanks for letting us come over and carve "punks" Mom and Dad!
We had a blast!

REAL witchy

Yesterday we went to Gardner Village to see the WitcHeS!!!
I love the Halloween atmosphere there during the month of October.
We had a fabulous time, minus the fact that Baylor was a little
nervous of the lady friends. I should've known... he was scared of
happy Disney characters- of course he wasn't going to love a
bunch of crazy witches :)

Then last night Russ and I got a little date night (which usually happens once upon never) and we went to the Real Salt Lake game. Remember how much I LOVE soccer... oh wait. BUT it just so happens that one of these AWESOME players is the DAD of my darling student!!! He is the nicest guy and the family is adorable (they've even brought me flowers to school) so we decided to go watch him. They were playing Cruz Azul which is a team from Mexico- so the flippin' game was sold out. We payed a scalper way too much but got awesome seats and had a fabulous time. We were sitting right on the side of the goal and got to see 2 GOALS right in front of us. One that a certain parent had a huge assist for! Actually watching someone made the game so exciting!
I'm actually looking forward to going to another game.
Go REAL!
I'm pretty much a go hard or go home kind of girl... so it looks like I need to go shopping for some Real gear :)

B's Entourage

Every morning as Baylor and I are leaving the house to head to my mom's and then work for me, I ask B what/who he wants to take with. His list continues to get longer and he definitely goes through spurts of who he lugs around with him everyday. Lately I just laugh as I turn around and look at him in his seat holding his "entourage." (as I like to call it :)

Some of these pics he has some serious morning face because sadly there are days I have to wake him up to go. He always wakes up happy though and his smile is enough to get me through the day.

Meet his entourages...
The dinosaur blanket (SNUGGIE to us) is a staple. It goes everyday. He LOVES the tag and is constantly asking "where's tag?" You hear about those kids who love their tags, he is the perfect example. Not any old tag will do however, it has to be his snuggie tag.
His 2 Poohs and 2 "nuggies" and a smile to boot :D
His Duck and Ipod were the lucky winners this day.
My personal favorite "Tiny" (his giraffe) and of course his football
Tiny, George, and his other monkey Cocoa that we "borrow" from Grandma Julie EVERYDAY.
And last Saturday I walked in and he was sitting there chillin' with his "friends"
And yes, he really called them friends.
He stood up to get a good bounce in...
And then attempted to pick them all up again.
He was getting a little frustrated because he would get everything but one last item and as he went to pick it up, he would drop something else. A vicious cycle, but I couldn't stop laughing.
Finally he got all his "friends" and was ready to get out. I really need to video him talking about all his "friends" because it's pretty darn funny.
I LOVE you Baylor. Thank you for always making me smile.

My Happy Place/ Russ' nightmare

A couple of weeks ago we took a trip to the mall. (Hence the title of the post) Baylor had a crazy growth spurt and needed some new kicks. I always splurge on his shoes, because I think it's important that little ones have good support while they are developing so we headed to Nordstrom. :) He was way more interested in the colorful crocs than the sneakers...
Up to this point I've always known what size to buy him, but this time he got the royal treatment just to be sure. I didn't dare take a picture of the girl helping us :D
He really didn't care about the shoes, but was thrilled about his "blellow." That's one word we haven't mastered yet, but not gonna lie, I think blellow could be the new balloon.

Shoe Love is True Love (or so I like to think)
Then we headed to Build-a-Bear! This time it wasn't for us, but for a special present for B's cousin Brooklyn. She turned one on the 13th and I wanted to get her something special... so WE had a great idea.... to make her a birthday bear!

Baylor got to pick the heart and put it inside...
Give her a bath...
And name her.
We named her Cupcake, because the theme of Brooklyn's birthday was cupcakes and the little shirt we picked had a cupcake on it. Clever I know ;)
The final product (minus the pink bows we put on at the end)
We had a fun trip to the mall and Baylor was so happy to give the present to little Brooklyn on her birthday. I'm just sad I didn't get a picture of him handing it to her! It was so cute.

And don't worry- Baylor was totally terrified of the "fluff" machine at build-a-bear. But I censored the pictures and only put the happy ones.

Goodbye Summer

We kicked off Labor Day weekend with the Cougar home opener! We dyed Russ and Baylor's faux hawks BLUE! We had tons of fun at the game and B looked so cute I just wanted to gobble him up. He was great during the game too. He just kept saying watch football, catch football, and our favorite- he does rah rah rah rah rah with his arm. So PROUD :)
After the game we went down to see my cousin Riley. He is the punter/kicker for BYU. He had an awesome game and ended up being the Mountain West Conference special teams player of the week! I LOVE cougar football, but it's even more fun getting to watch and cheer on my cousin! Go #99
After the game, we headed up to Fairview and camped the rest of the weekend with the Olsen clan. Baylor had lots of fun digging rocks, playing in the dirt, and just being a boy.
We got to take B fishing for the first time.

Grandpa Russ caught one and let Baylor help him reel it in. He... wasn't too sure about it and didn't want to get any closer than this.
I on the other hand, was very happy to reel in my own fish and do the classic pose. We kept catching these weird albino fish. Slightly creepy.
B had lots of fun chillin' on the banks with his cousin Brooklyn.
Spending time with Papa
And going for a 4-wheeler ride with dad.
No camping trip is complete without a SMORE.
We had a great time saying adieu to Summer. Now bring on the Fall and lots of FOOTBALL!
