so sad

I'm so sad.
And if Baylor knew better, he'd be sad too.

Did you hear about the sweet baby giraffe at the zoo? He died today :(

We absolutely loved going to visit him at the zoo. We always spend the majority of our time watching him and baby Zuri, the elephant. I actually just blew up pictures of the 2 for B's room. And what's up with the zoo... first the zebras and now the baby giraffe?!

I really am sad. We loved you baby giraffe!!! And because they never game you a name, that's what you'll always be to us :) We heart you, Kristen and Baylor

A Day in the Life...

It always makes me happy to see what Baylor has been up to while I'm at work. I thank my lucky stars everyday that he is in the best hands and always has a fun day...
Thanks Momma, you're the BEST!

When my nephew Cruz was born, my mom showed Baylor how to feed a baby. He proceeded to feed the rubber duck! Elmo must have been thirsty too :) The next day my mom took my sister lunch, and B tried giving a bottle to Cruz. So funny!

Here he is just chillin, getting a little reading in.
And of course, what day would be complete without a little jam with Woody. Did I mention how ecstatic I am that Toy Story 1 and 2 finally came out of the vault and onto DVD?! We're pumped and looking very forward to the Toy Story 3 this summer :)
You've got a friend in me.....

Oh man... and wife

We went down to St. George on Friday for my friend Amanda, better known as 'Mandz' wedding. While packing, B was of course being my little shadow helper. As I took my blow dryer and brush from the bathroom into my room, he was following me, until I heard a huge slam and instant screaming. It was that awful cry, that you know you better run for. He had slipped and slammed his head into the end of the door. Granted I was only about 4 steps away, but by the time I got to him, he had a big blue mark and by the time I ran him into his room to get a wash cloth, it was HUGE and blue. It was heartbreaking. My poor little B. He wouldn't let us put the rag or ice on it, so I found a dum dum sucker to distract him. Luckily he let us keep the ice on it while he sucked and drooled :) But he still ended up with what my Grandma called an "easter egg" instead of a goose egg... because it was a different color every day we were there.
Thankfully we made it down to St. George without any other issues. We kicked off the weekend with a "Friday Fiesta" that Mandz had planned. She is an event planner for Usana, so she knows how to throw a good party. Cafe Rio catered, we got to watch the wedding video, and best of all, we got to be with friends!
My cute boys
Saturday's festivities took place at the Ledges. It was gorgeous. Good friends, perfect weather, and a beautiful wedding.
My best friends
Mekensy, Shannon, Mandz, me, and Jessica
We were roommates at SUU and have been close ever since. Mekensy and I actually teach the same grade and track, at the same school. I love it!
My little sweetheart.
You can't really tell in this picture what his head looked like Sunday but it was still pretty bad. And to top it off, a little black eye showed up too. I know bumps and bruises are going to happen, but I don't think they will get any easier.
Congratulations Amanda and Danny! We are so happy for you. The wedding was perfect and we were happy to be a part of it!

LUCKY

We celebrated St. Patty's on Sunday with my family. My mom made her annual corned beef and cabbage dinner (which is actually really yummy) and the "leprechauns" left the kids a treasure hunt. I bought Baylor this funny hat a while back and was looking forward to him getting to wear it. My dad doesn't call me the 'disneylander' for nothing :)

A wee bit o' huntin'
Reading the next clue with Grandpa
The race to the next clue...
And B trying to keep up...
Wait guys, I'm coming!!!
The last clue led them to the bathtub. They each found a fun sack with their name on it. Leprechauns leave the best treasure :)
Even Cruz got a bag, he just snoozed during the hunt. Baylor absolutely loves him. He will go over and look at him or take him something like a toy. Before too long they will be partners in crime.
And of course, we celebrated in style today. B got to sport his new "SHAM ROCKER" tee. I wish they made it in my size ;)
I feel quite LUCKY myself, to be able to come home to this.
You can call it luck, you can call it blessed. Whatever you call it, I'm grateful for IT all.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! May the luck of the Irish be with you all year.

Got WILD?

For anyone who has read our blog since Baylor was born, you know I call him B. (the story behind the name Baby B will have to be another post) At home I also call him Baylor Boy. He has recently acquired a new name... WILD THING. He has got a little wild streak in him that seams to burst out a few times a day. When I get to my mom's after work he gets a little CrAzY and many other times throughout the day. He's all boy, wild and full of energy.

The other night Cole, Allie, and Aspen were over. When I told them it was time for his bath they all got so excited. I don't know who had more fun... Baylor and his wild antics, the kids playing with him, or me and Leanne laughing our heads off. The pictures really don't do it justice, but it was hilarious. Our tub had tsunami sized waves and "rain" to go with it.

And this was yesterday when B was flying solo.
We still had massive waves and I got a second shower.

I guess all the times that I've sang "Splish Splash I was takin' a bath..." have made their impact. Because... how was I to know there was a PaRtY GoIn' On?!!!
Love my Wild Thing

You're IT...

Picture Tag
Russ' cousin Amanda tagged me (she runs way faster :)

Here are the rules:

1. Open your 1st photo folder.
2. Scroll to the 10th photo.
3. Post the photo and the story behind it.
4. Tag 5 or more people.
So when I read the rules, I interpreted my "1st photo folder" as my oldest or "first" folder of pictures. I asked Russ what he thought and he told me to just pick a picture. I told him that was cheating :), so here's the real deal...

This was our FABULOUS vacation to the Bahamas. We stayed at the Atlantis resort with our good friends Rob and Ashley. This beach is a private beach for anyone staying there. As you can see the water was amazing (and my favorite color). This was our last "just the two of us" vacation. Fun in the SUN!

Now the fun part... I tag

So GREAT!

Literally. This is Echo Young and not only is she GrEaT, she's Baylor's GREAT-GREAT GRANDMA! How cool is that?! This is a 5 generations pic: Russ, Baylor, Grandma Debi, Great Great Grandma Echo, and Great aunt Linda. WOW.
She is an absolutely charming lady. She is still so witty and fun to talk to.
The coolest part, she is 98! Yes, NINETY-EIGHT! But she told us, "I just tell people I was born in 1911, then I don't have to tell them my age!"

This is aunt Kathy (Debi's sister). It's always fun to see her and get to catch up.
B having a very serious conversation with GGG Young
What a doll.
We had such a great time in Idaho visiting with family, getting to listen to Russ' cousin's mission farewell talk, and most of all getting to visit with Grandma Young. She is an amazing woman and we love getting to see her!
