Definitely not "popcorn"

We looked out the window and what did we see...
this.
seriously.
Granted, this picture was months ago but I thought it was worth posting. Anyone else's husbands do the snow blowing in their basketball shorts and sorells??? Just wondering.
Even Bronx was chilly.
It's almost May- is the snow really necessary
Mother Nature,
We are waving our white flags.
Joke is over, you win.
We're ready for summer or at least spring.
Please.

A year and swinging

Remember this little guy...

Here he is one year later.
I'm still so amazed at how much babies change in only a year. I plan on taking a picture with B and this mitt a few more times as he is growing up. Next time, I'll let him wear clothes though :)

Party atTIRE

Yesterday Russ brought me a particularly cute box of wipes... it made me smile so I thought I would share :)
Hello Momma!
Then we headed over to my parents' house for a birthday extravaganza! My Mom's birthday was Saturday and my Dad's is tomorrow so we did a combined party yesterday.
Happy Birthday Mom and Dad!!!

My Dad has always been a stickler on my sisters and I taking good care of our cars. I taught my drivers ed. class how to change a tire... we're constantly "reminded" to get our tires rotated... I can usually expect to be asked what the air pressure is in my tires... have I checked or gotten the oil changed lately... etc. You get the idea :)

I came across the PERFECT birthday card for my dad. It said...
Dad, I almost forgot your birthday. I was too busy changing my oil and checking the air pressure in my tires. (Inside... Ha, I crack myself up). It was like finding a golden ticket- THE perfect card. So of course I bought it and gave it to him with his present. Everyone loved it and the party continued. About an hour later my Dad tells me to go walk around my car.
So I go look and sure enough, my passenger side rear tire is almost on the ground. A screw, go figure. The card was almost perfect, until he beat me to the punch. He can spot anything in a tire- one day, I'll be that good :)

Anyhow, Russ and my Dad got to end the party putting on my spare. Good thing I had one and my car was full of gas, phew. Thanks for taking such good care of me Dad! And thanks for putting on the spare Russ.

The Playoffs Baby!

As you already know...
We are BIG JAZZ FANS!!!
We are so pumped for the playoffs, so... please, pretty please Jazz, play well!
Let's kick some Nugget boo-tay and at least make it to the second round. Really, let's win the whole shabang.

In honor of the playoffs, here are a few of my favorite pictures since B was born... for good luck ;)

Baylor's first game 3.29.09
His Jazz photo shoot
He may be little, but he is one BIG FAN!
Just chillin' in his William's jersey
And here are pics from this year's games. We love going.

Good Luck Jazz!!! Win for Us!

Like a fine wine...

...these sweaters only get better with age.
A few months ago we went to an "ugly sweater" party and I never got the chance to post it. I am proud to say that my beautiful sweater came straight from momma Jewels! Luckily she holds onto random stuff like this "just in case" one of us needs it. I had many turtlenecks to choose from, but I went with the cardinal red :)

The best part... I WON! Please believe that my sweater was voted the best :) The girl who took second place had some nice country blue chickens on her sweater so it was a close race...

It was a lot of fun. My only regret is that I didn't get a group picture. If anyone else has an ugly sweater party, make sure to invite us... there's plenty more where these came from! And my other thought... if I put my clothes away and get them out in 15 years, is Baylor going to ask to borrow them for an "ugly" party???

Fun in the Sun

We got to spend Easter weekend down in sunny Mesquite with the Olsen clan. It was nice leaving the snowy blizzards of Salt Lake for some sunshine. Russ' parents packed the weekend with fun activities for all of us.

We hit the pool for some splashing fun. It wasn't as warm as we'd hoped so we only swam for a little while.
Baylor loved our pool side drinks :)
We hit the golf course and had a blast. We also went bowling, but I didn't get any pictures. The girls also went to the movie, "The Last Song" which was fun for me because I just read the book.

We stayed at the Casablanca. They had an Easter Egg hunt for guests. Baylor thought it was great because there were "balls" EVERYWHERE!!! He is SO OBSESSED with balls :)One of his eggs had a chocolate bunny in it. He figured out how to open it, so I let him enjoy. It's fair to say, he is a fan. "mmmmmmmm"
And then of course, on Easter morning, our favorite Bunny didn't fail to deliver. He brought a basket FULL of fun presents. It was so much fun to watch him pull everything out.
This little guy LOVES books!
After B opened his basket, we headed down to Grandma and Grandpa's room for more fun. He and Brooklyn got fun presents, including the cute Jazz hat he is sporting here. It was fun to watch these two interact with each other. They are going to be the best of friends.
And then we got in the car for the long ride home. When we arrived in Salt Lake, we went to my parents' for a little more Easter fun. There was an Easter egg hunt waiting for B when we got there. He missed the big one with the other cousins but Aspen helped him find the eggs that were hid just for him. He got more presents here and ended the day with 3 baskets of loot!!!
It was quite the weekend. We were all tuckered out by Sunday night.
Monday was my birthday and we celebrated in style. It was the perfect end to a great Spring Break. The icing on the cake... 2 of my friends had their babies ON MY BIRTHDAY! Congrats to Callie and Fernando and Maranda and Joel. I'm excited to share April 5th with Lia and Nicole!
Nothing beats FAMILY and HOLIDAYS! The perfect combination.
